Android Power Management by default puts all apps running in the background, such as the LBS Edge Suite, to "sleep" after a couple days in order to improve battery life. If the LBS app goes to sleep, it will stop reporting positions. To further enhance performance, we recommend users also take these Preventive Action Steps:
-
Disable Battery Optimization for the LBS Edge Suite App:
- Open Settings > Apps.
- Select LBS Edge Suite.
- Tap Battery.
- Choose Unrestricted (or Don’t optimize) to allow the app to operate without limitations.
-
Prevent the App from Sleeping (For Samsung Devices):
- Go to Settings > Battery and Device Care > Battery.
- Tap Background Usage Limits.
- Select Never Sleeping Apps.
- Tap the Add button and choose LBS Edge Suite from the list
- To enhance reliability, we have introduced a wake-up service that runs every two hours. This service sends a command to request the app’s current location, ensuring consistent reporting. For this feature to work effectively, it is crucial that GPS remains enabled at all times.
